get the fast boat trip to Gili. The first one is from Padang Bai. You need to
get to Padang Bai in the mornings about 9 am. The operators are only available
in the morning. Most tourists decide to spend the night in Kuta and then take
the shuttle bus to Padang Bai. But, you can just spend the night in Padang Bai
instead. So, you could bypass the sleaze and madness of Kuta.
The most famous fast boat to take is the Gili Cat. You
can book the tickets online. Another fast boat you can trust is the Blue Water
Express. Online, you can get the more high price than buying the tickets from
the tour guides in Padang Bai.
The other starting point to go from Bali to Gili island
is from Amed. Using fast boat from Padang Bai will take about one and a half
hour to get there, and it costs about IDR250,000 each. But, if you choose Amed
as the starting point, you can save your time. From Amed, it only takes about
45 minutes to get to Gili island. Not many tourists know about Amed because
many travel agents didn't promote it actively. It's just about 3-hour drive
from Denpasar. You can get this hauntingly beautiful port of Amed to start your
trip from Bali to Gili Island in a great way.
